Werther, Germany, June 27, 2023 – The competition is based on a scientific selection process during which innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team at Vienna University of Economics apply over 100 criteria in five categories to assess competition participants. The categories are: innovation-friendly senior management, climate of innovation, innovative processes/organization, outward looking/open innovation, and successful innovations.
Taking part for the first time, the Poppe + Potthoff group was instantly successful, earning a place as one of Germany’s TOP 100 companies. The company received the amazing news in spring – the competition’s mentor, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar, would personally congratulate P+P at an official award ceremony in Augsburg, Germany.
The family-owned company’s award is the outcome of its ongoing transformation into a development partner for sustainable technologies. P+P’s lived culture of innovation and errors plus agile innovation methodology enables its employees to both generate their own ideas and impulses as well as to independently drive them forward. Defined processes and the continuous inclusion of employees in the company’s strategic focus further promote these activities. This also actively boosts the understanding of technical challenges on the market and an innovative mindset to overcome them.
Regular “Idea Management” meetings ensure the highest possible level of transparency regarding progress of technical projects inside the corporate group. This, in turn, makes it possible to actively integrate employees into ongoing developments and provide them with the opportunity to make contributions.
The competition’s expert jury was able to confirm the company’s unique innovative culture and the importance it is given within the organization. An evaluation compiled by the competition organizers confirms that Poppe + Potthoff is strikingly different to other medium-sized enterprises and has the capability to think outside the box and practically implement innovative ideas.
This capability is made possible by the understanding that innovations are tomorrow’s successes and the will to actively shape the future. For Poppe + Potthoff, the award is therefore both a confirmation of its chosen path and also a clear call to stay on it.
